2007 OUTSTANDING TEAM
1967 State Champions
The Monroe High School Baseball Team won its first and only baseball state championship in Tifton, Ga., in June 1967.

The team conststed of seventeen players, one scorekeeper, one manager, and two coaches. The season record was 12 wins and 4 losses.

The State Championship was played at the Tifton stadium. The victor had to win three consecutive games. Monroe defeated Bethel High of Miller County, William Bryant High of Moultrie and fairmouth High of Griffin. The winning pitcher was Tom Wilson, and the most valuable player was Ulysses Wilson.
